A U.N. plane crashed into South Korea’s waters Wednesday, killing all aboard and one person on board, the U.K. defence ministry said.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the Boeing 777-200ER, which crashed near the coast of the island nation of Jeju, was destroyed by a collision with the sea.
“The U. K. Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense have confirmed the aircraft crashed into the sea in the Jeju Sea and that one person has been killed,” the ministry said in a statement.
The crash occurred at 11:38 a.m. local time, about 45 minutes after takeoff from a base in the southern province of Pyeongtaek.
