A construction company logo that has been used as a social construct for the company’s online presence is being removed.
Key points:The logo has been on the company website for more than a yearThe company has also been accused of not paying workers in the construction industryIt has been branded ‘an insult’ to workers and their familiesThe company said it is changing the logoThe Australian Construction Trades Union (ACTU) is challenging the logo on social media, with a petition currently circulating online calling for it to be removed.
The Australian Building and Construction Traded Union (ACCTU) has also called for the removal of the logo, saying it has been a “social construct”.
The union is asking the ABC to remove the logo because it is “not representative of our members”.
The company, the company name and the company logo have been linked to an advertisement for a construction company called Cushman & Marland.
“This logo is not representative of the entire Australian construction industry and it is disrespectful to our members,” ACCTU chief executive, David Miller, said.
“Cushman has worked hard to promote construction and the construction workforce.
The image on the Cushmans website, which is a social construction, is an insult to those that work in the industry.”
It is also an insult that goes against our members’ well being, their safety, their dignity, their livelihoods.
“Mr Miller said it was “unacceptable” the logo had been used for more of a social purpose than its real purpose.”
The Australian building and construction industry is the largest and most diverse in the world,” he said.
The company’s website says it is a global provider of construction services.”
Since the beginning of 2016, Cushmen has expanded its reach beyond Australia to offer a broad range of services including construction services for major corporations in over 50 countries, and services for small businesses across the globe,” it says.”
Our industry has expanded to offer the highest quality construction services to our clients around the world, and we offer services to the entire population of the world.””
This is not only the largest construction company in Australia, but it is the only company in the entire world to provide a full range of construction and maintenance services to businesses worldwide.
“It said it had also been the “largest construction company of the past 30 years”, which it said was “part of the reason we continue to be successful”.ACCTI’s national secretary, Chris Taylor, said he had contacted the ACTU to raise concerns about the logo and had also sent a letter to the company.”
They were very responsive, we were very supportive of them,” Mr Taylor said.”[We] sent a series of emails back and forth, including one where they asked for a reply to our questions about the CUSHMAN logo and we provided a reply in a few days.
“Mr Taylor said he was not sure why the company was using the logo in the first place.”
I think it is an issue of branding, which has become an issue around the construction sector, and there is no other company that is using that logo and is doing it in a very disrespectful way,” he told ABC News.”
We are concerned about the impact this has on the people who work in construction and we are very concerned about this on the construction side.
“The Australian Federal Police (AFP) said it did not have an immediate response to the union’s petition.”ACCTA’s response was to remove its logo on our website on April 3, 2016,” a spokesman said.
Mr Miller told ABC Radio Hobart that the company had made “no effort to hide the fact that this logo is a representation of the CUNTYMAN logo”.”
We have removed that particular logo and our website now contains the correct information about the company,” he added.”
When you look at our website you see the correct name of CUNKYMAN and there are other things as well that reflect that.
“The ACTU is challenging what it said were “a number of claims made by some individuals” that the logo was sexist.”
What we are seeing is a number of individuals using social media to attack Cushmann’s brand and our workers,” Mr Miller said.
