Construction on the new home of the Los Angeles Kings began last week with construction crews beginning the arduous process of building a new arena at Staples Center.
The Kings’ new home, which is expected to open in 2020, is located in the shadow of Staples Center and the Los Angels Stadium.
As of last week, the team’s lease with Staples Center had not expired.
But with construction on the project nearing completion, fans have already started lining up at Staples Arena to watch the team play.
The arena’s arena seats nearly 6,000 people and is a significant step forward in the Kings’ goal to open the arena by the end of 2021.
It also is a key step in the team building process.
The team’s arena will host events such as concerts, concerts at the Coliseum and an NBA All-Star Game.
The first of the arena’s events will take place in February 2020.
After that, the arena will be home to events like the Lakers All-Stars Game and the Staples Center Home Opener.
The next event, which will be held in June 2020, will be a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Kings.

The New Orleans Pelicans announced that the franchise has agreed to purchase the team from the Las Vegas Sands Corp. for $1.9 billion in cash, including $1 billion in bonds.
The transaction will create a new family-owned and operated basketball franchise in the heart of New Orleans and the nation’s second city.
The Pelicans’ first NBA game will be played at the Smoothie King Center on Jan 3, 2020 in New Orleans.
The franchise will relocate to Las Vegas for a second season.
The purchase is expected be completed in early 2021.
In a statement released this week, team president Michael Finley said the transaction will give the team a competitive advantage in the league and the NBA for years to come.
The announcement of the transaction is a “major win for New Orleans” and the city “will benefit from a stronger basketball team, the opportunity for a major franchise expansion, and the opportunity of expanding our presence in the world’s largest city,” Finley added.
The Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies have also announced that they have reached agreements to purchase teams.
The teams announced they had reached a purchase agreement in October and have agreed to a new 10-year, $200 million lease with the team.
The deal includes a 10-percent purchase price increase and the Grizzlies will pay the NBA $10 million per year through 2020.
According to Finley, the new ownership group will be able to bring a better fan experience to Los Angeles, which has not been an NBA fan’s paradise in recent years.
The new ownership team will include a new, modern, state-of-the-art arena, improved facilities, and better technology, he said.
The Las Vegas Sun reports that the team will pay an additional $100 million in taxes and fees, which could include a tax rebate for local residents.
The lease is expected cost about $7.4 billion, including about $1 million in debt.
The news comes just two days after the NBA announced that it had reached an agreement
