A construction accident involving a large structure and two occupants caused major damage at an oil and gas construction site in northern Alberta

A construction worker has been killed and another person was injured when a large concrete structure collapsed in the town of Moss.

The incident occurred at about 3 p.m.

MT on Wednesday near the intersection of Highway 3 and Highway 4.

An investigation is underway.

A news release from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police says a contractor was working on the project when the large concrete object fell onto the highway.

Police say it’s too early to determine the cause of the accident.
