Construction of the solar array on the east coast of Australia is expected to begin in late October.
The project, to be known as the East West Solar Power Park, has been billed as Australia’s biggest solar project ever.
According to the National Electricity Market Operator (NEOMA), the project is the biggest solar array ever constructed.
However, the project will not come cheap.
With the cost of construction expected to rise from $5.4 billion to $7.4 million per megawatt-hour (MWh), it is expected that the project, which will cost about $25 billion, will be funded by a combination of private investors, the state government, the Australian Government, and the Federal Government.
Construction is expected begin in 2019.
Solar Energy Australia, which is the contractor, said that it will be in the business of building the project for 25 years, which means that the first phase will cost approximately $3.4 trillion.
While construction is expected start in 2019, construction has already been underway in other parts of the country.
As of September 2017, there were approximately 7,200 MW of capacity in Australia’s large solar projects.
Australia is one of only a handful of countries that have built solar energy systems at a scale of multiple gigawatts, which are considered to be the largest.
